素帕猜：在東西方之間

    2001年11月10日，經過了漫長的13年的談判，中國終於成為了世界貿易組織當中的一個成員。素帕猜曾任泰國政府副總理，在中國入世後不久成為世界貿易組織新一任總幹事。一個是新加入的成員，一個是新上任的總幹事，對話從東方開始，但不止于東方。

    China eventually became the member of WTO after 13 years negotiation.The form vite premier of Thailand Supachai was appoinced as the Secretacy General of WTO shortly after china’s entry.Although he is a easterner，the communication never stop within the east.

    “因為我自己的國家——泰國和中國的傳統淵源。多年來，有很多的中國人移民到泰國，在我的國家會有血緣的融合，所以在泰國，我們身上都混合了不同的血液，特別是中國的。”

    “我寧願當你的老師給你打分，而不是給中國的表現打分。作為世界組織總幹事，我必須非常中立，尤其是在談判我們成員的表現方面，實際上我並不應該對成員做這樣的評判，因為我要做的僅僅是推動他們的工作。”

    “Because of the long tradition of migration from china to Thailand，people in our nation are of mixed blood，especially Chinese blood.”

    “As the Secretary General of WTO，I have to keep neutral when judging the performance of the members.Actually，this should not be my job because my responsibility is to just promote their work.”
