Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang has announced that Vice Premier Wang Yang will visit the United States to attend the 27th China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade. One aim of his visit is to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. The meeting will be held in Washington on November 21st.
Lu said, "In 2015, the United States was China's second-largest trade partner, and is the largest export destination. China is the US' largest trade partner, with bilateral trade reaching 558 point 4 billion US dollars."
"The China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade is one of the earliest dialogue mechanisms between the two countries. It has played an important role in promoting bilateral trade and easing trade frictions. We hope to work with the US to promote the sustainable, healthy and stable development of China-US trade ties."
