Chinese President Xi Jinping also met with his US counterpart Barack Obama in Hangzhou. President Xi said China is willing to work with the United States to ensure bilateral ties stay on the right track.
Xi also hailed achievements in areas such as climate change and finance, while their militaries also established a mutual trust mechanism. Xi said he appreciated Washington's support ahead of the G20. He urged the two sides to stick to the principles of mutual respect and manage their differences in a constructive manner.
Meanwhile, Obama said he is looking forward to an extensive discussion on advancing regional and global security. He also said the US welcomes China's contributions to global development, peacekeeping and refugee assistance.
