Full coverage: THAAD Deployment in South Korea
Opposition party leaders have urged President Park Geun-hye to abandon the deployment of the THAAD anti-missile system.
They told Park that the missile system won't protect the country from nuclear threats from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Two leaders also urged Park to resume talks with Pyongyang.
She rejected the proposal and called Pyongyang's nuclear program "reckless" and "fanatic". Pyongyang had announced it would continue to develop its nuclear capabilities despite international criticism.
