Good looks were certainly a boon to the meteoric ascent of Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. She was born on September 25, 1969, in Wales, in a common family. Catherine early on showed an interest in entertainment. She sang and danced her way to local stardom before she was ten years-old, and this dancing talent paved the way for future stardom. Success came quickly for Zeta-Jones after she moved to London at the age of fifteen to pursue an acting career. Her work caused such a sensation that she was continually sought out by the paparazzi. An incident where she ran her car into a light post trying to flee the pursuing paparazzi prompted her to make the decision to try her luck in Hollywood. However, her success in England didn't necessarily translate into success in Hollywood. Hollywood success came to Catherine when she caught the eye of Steven Spielberg during a TV mini-series, Titanic. The famous producer was so struck by her performance that he immediately suggested her for the female lead in the film Mask of Zorro, which he produced. The performance was so electrifying that she then went on to star opposite Sean Connery in Entrapment. Her shapely figure and elegant dancing was so electrifying that she was regarded as the most beautiful English actress in Hollywood. In November 2000, Catherine married actor Michael Douglas who has the same birthday as her, but is 25 years older then her. Her outstanding performance in the musical Chicago won her a 2003 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, and when she accepted the Oscar she was already expecting her second child. Dark-haired and brown eyed, Zeta-Jones has been the most sought-after British actress.
