Slalom Sister
The women's slalom race at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics was held on 1 February 1964. Marielle Goitschel recorded the best time of the first run, 76 hundredths of a second faster than the skier in second place: her sister Christine. Christine prevailed in the second run and earned the gold medal, while Marielle took the silver medal. That same day, back in France, their younger sister, Patricia, won a national junior title. Two days later, in the giant slalom competition, Christine and Marielle reversed positions, with Marielle winning the gold medal and Christine the silver medal.
