One shouldn't underestimate the power of the digital and electronic media cleverly manipulated to spread all sorts of lies across the globe to win sympathy for the perpetrators. The Chinese should likewise learn fast to counter such strategies with skills and logic out to sabotage them.
The CIA knows the Han Chinese aren't opium pushers. Tibet isn't Nanjing, Iraq, Afghanistan or Sobibor. Chinese Tibetans are neither the Red Indians nor Aussie bushmen.
Arson, murder and looting cannot be tolerated anywhere on the planet. These culprits should therefore be punished and locked away for good. In fact, in 1992 the US sent thousands of fully armed soldiers to crush the blacks in Los Angeles riots. And the then President, Bush senior, was quoted as saying, "There can be no excuse for the murder, arson, theft or vandalism that have terrorised the people of Los Angeles . . . I will use whatever force is necessary to restore order."
China should also learn to echo such pronouncements.
