WHO: Protection of poultry workers crucial

A spokeswoman from the World Health Organization has announced that its laboratories have been busy testing samples drawn from bird-flu-hit countries in Asia.

Fadela Chaib told a press conference in Geneva that strengthening protection of poultry workers is crucial in preventing the virus' transmission from infected birds to humans. She suggested the workers wash their hands more frequently and wear masks during working hours.
