The Ministry of Health says China has already taken numerous measures to contain bird flu. Inspection teams have been sent to affected areas to help prevent the virus from spreading to humans.
According to Vice Minister of Health Wang Longde, emergency measures have been carried out in affected areas of China. The cities and villages have already been educated on how to prevent the spread of the bird flu virus.
Wang Longde said, "The bird flu virus can't stand heat. And if it is heated to 100 degrees Celsius, it will be killed. And it's also very vulnerable to sunshine, dryness and normal disinfectant. Therefore, people should be relatively safe if they stay away from infected birds."
Up till now, there is no scientific proof that the virus is transmitted among humans. According to the latest measures, local governments will report to the Ministry of Health when they suspect a bird flu case.
