The official Iranian news agency IRNA has reported the Iranian airforce has scheduled an extensive exercise in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman for today.

The aim is to raise its operational and support capability. There will be long-distance flights of around 36-hundred kilometers along with aerial refueling from tanker to fighter jet and from fighter jet to fighter jet.

There will also be low-altitude flights over the water. The plans for the exercises were announced some time ago.
