China Telecom launches commercial 3G trial services
China Telecom has launched the first commercial trial of 3G services in Shanghai. A total of 1600 terminal stations in the city had been completed as of Sunday.

The issuing of the licenses does not mean that the service will be available immediately. The three carriers have different time tables.
