Provide basic healthcare as public service: Experts

China has unveiled a three-year plan for healthcare reform. It aims to lay a solid foundation for equitable and universal access to essential healthcare for all in China by 2020. Experts say the most important part is how to implement the reform properly so that everyone can benefit from it.

Professor Li Ling from Peking University has been studying  related subjects for 15 years. She said a higher reimbursement  rate will be very helpful in winning the confidence of patients.

The core principle of the reform is to provide basic healthcare as a public service to the people. That requires much more government funding and supervision.
