On Sunday, al-Bashir was greeted at the Doha International Airport by Qatari and Arab League officials.

This is the first time al-Bashir has attended a regional conference since the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him on March the 4th.

Last week, he visited neighboring countries Eritrea, Egypt and Libya.

Sudanese scholars had warned him earlier not to travel to the summit. But the Sudanese government announced that it is necessary for al-Bashir to perform his responsibilities.
