Two Turkish helicopters have been seen crossing into Iraqi airspace as Turkish warplanes and helicopter gun ships attack suspected rebel positions near Iraq.
Turkey's Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan says a motion calling for a Turkish military incursion against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq will be presented to Parliament soon.
Footage captured by AP Television shows two choppers flying over an observation tower on the border and in the direction of the Kurdish city of Zakho in northern Iraq.
It is unclear whether the helicopters were on an offensive or reconnaissance mission.
Turkey accuses Kurdish rebels of crossing back and forth from bases in Iraq using remote, mountain passes that are difficult to monitor.
