The US has stressed its opposition to Turkey's attempt to launch a military incursion against the Kurds. White House spokeswoman, Dana Perino says the US doesn't think it will be the best place for Turkish troops to go into Iraq.

She says the US want to work with the Turkish and Iraqi governments to eradicate the terrorist problem in northern Iraq. The Iraqi government says it will not allow Turkish troops to enter its territory to pursue PKK rebels.
