The Pentagon in the United States is claiming that American fighting forces in Iraq are getting ready for a potential escalation in violence.
U.S. defense officials say it's forces in the war-torn country are currently operating at a high alert. Meanwhile, U.S. military has revealed that three more of it's Marines have been killed in battle in Iraq.
December has been the deadliest month this year for American troops, with the toll reaching over 100.
