On Friday, men and women from the "United Human Rights Council Pakistan" demonstrated in downtown Karachi.
Protesters criticized the verdict and the US President George W. Bush.
They chanted anti-US slogans, demanding Saddam's release.

Protester said, "What is happening to Saddam today could happen to you tomorrow. It can happen to any head of state at anytime."
Meanwhile in India, hundreds of people staged a protest rally in the northeastern Agartala against Saddam's death sentence.

Sankar Datta, protest leader, said, "We want to make the peace loving people aware of the US policy and want India to intervene in order to stop the death sentence given to Saddam."
Several other countries and human rights experts called on the Iraqi government not to carry out the death sentence. They said the hanging will obstruct the reconciliation process and will delay the restoration of peace in Iraq.
UN human rights experts say Saddam's trial was seriously flawed.
