Prosecutors in South Korea are seeking warrants to examine the assets of those close to Choi Soon-sil, the woman at the center of the country's snowballing political scandal and the confidante of impeached President Park Geun-hye.
Around 40 people have been listed, but prosecutors have not revealed their identities or if President Park is also included. Previous investigations focused on the source of Choi's wealth, and if she had assets abroad. Prosecutors are next expected to look into assets held by Choi's father.
