South Korean prosecutors are seeking warrants to investigate the assets of those close to Choi Soon-Sil, the woman at the center of a political scandal and confidante of impeached President Park Geun-hye.
Around 40 people have been listed, but prosecutors did not reveal identities, or if President Park is included.
Previous investigations focused on the origins of Choi's wealth, and if she harbored assets abroad.
Prosecutors are also expected to look into the assets of Choi's father next.
