Beijing says it supports the United Nations Security Council in imposing new sanctions on Pyongyang.
The DPRK’s fifth and largest nuclear test was conducted in September.
“China resolutely opposes the DPRK conducting nuclear tests. To achieve denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, maintain peace and stability on the peninsula, and resolve nuclear issues through peaceful means like dialogue and negotiation; that is the consistent position of China,” said Geng Shuang, spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“We have reiterated that China supports the U.N. Security Council in taking more resolutions on the fifth nuclear test by the DPRK.”
