Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization prime ministers’ meeting in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Li calls for closer security, economic and cultural ties at SCO meeting

Li called on all SCO members to strengthen cooperation on security and regional anti-terrorism efforts. He said China is ready to make joint efforts with other members to boost regional trade and facilitate investment.

Li also promised more scholarships for citizens of SCO member states. The group consists of six nations: China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The prime ministers of these countries said China’s proposed Belt and Road Initiative constitutes a new pattern for international cooperation that will promote common prosperity.
