The woman at the center of the political scandal in South Korea, Choi Soon-sil, has arrived at the Seoul Central District Court.  Choi is an old friend of South Korean President Park Geun-hye. She's in court for a hearing to decide whether to issue a warrant for her arrest. 

Prosecutors are investigating whether Choi, who has no government job, used her ties with the president to meddle in state affairs. She is also reported to be involved in money laundering and corruption. The court will likely determine by Friday morning whether to approve the arrest warrant.

Justice Minister Kim Hyun-woong says he'll propose an investigation into Park, if necessary for the probe into the scandal surrounding Choi. The new prime minister nominee Kim Byong-joon says Park can be subject to investigation.

The scandal has rocked the country. And Park's approval rating has dropped to an all-time low.
