South Korea's presidential office has named a new prime minister and finance minister. This comes in the middle of the scandal involving President Park Geun-hye's friend, Choi Soon-sil, who is accused of meddling in state affairs. The reshuffle is the highest-level shake-up since the political scandal began. A new public safety and security minister has also been named.
Opposition parties have denounced the reshuffle as an attempt to distract the country from the political crisis. Meanwhile, Yonhap news agency said prosecutors have asked a court to issue a warrant for Choi's arrest.
