In a quarter-final competition of the WPBSA International Championship, in Daqing, Heilongjiang province -- China's Ding Junhui, the winner of the event in 2013, would be facing defending champion John Higgins for a spot in the semi-finals on the line.

Higgins started off strong, and would take the opening frame, easily potting the blue.

The only Chinese left in the draw would be left scratching his head, and would misfire on this green, allowing the Scot to clear the table and take a 2-nothing lead.

Things change in the third, as Higgins scratches on this red, as he takes a seat, and watches Ding take the frame.

He would be able to go on a nice run. The home town favorite would take the next phase also. And rattled off four straight frames to take the lead. He would be in a zone in the seventh to take a 5-2 edge.

Ding storms back winning six frames in a row to come away with a 6-2 victory over Higgins to make the semi-finals where he meets Judd Trump.
