A new wave of government airstrikes has devastated the rebel-held eastern part of Aleppo City. Rebel officials said the Russia-backed airstrikes hit at least four opposition-held areas. The Syrian Civil Defense said the death toll exceeded 100, since Damascus announced an operation late Thursday to recapture all of the city. Amateur video footage shows the reality of the attacks.
It shows people desperately trying to free a five-year-old girl from the rubble of a collapsed building. She is wedged between chunks of concrete. But she survives and is now getting treatment in hospital.
