The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has slammed the upcoming joint military exercise between South Korea and the United States. The country's state-run news agency KCNA called the Ulchi Freedom Guardian drill a "provocative action" against the north. It also urged the US to re-think its hostile policy against the DPRK.

The military drill starts on Monday. South Korea and the US will conduct several exercises each year including "Key Resolve" and "Foal Eagle".
