Southern China has experienced 20 rounds of heavy rain since the flood season arrived. Secondary disasters such as landslides and flooding have been common in many provinces, disrupting lives and putting many in danger.

Destroying homes, damaging country roads, and disrupting power supply and communication. This landslide in southwest Sichuan Province hit a village in Meigu County, and it's left 5 people missing. Rescuers have launched an operation to search for the missing and evacuate the residents.

Over in Chongqing, seven people were trapped by the swollen Longhe River. Water levels rose sharply in just an hour, stranding a party of ten. Three were able to swim across the river. Firefighters pulled the rest to safety in rubber dinghies.

In eastern province Jiangxi, rescue workers are scrambling to repair the Bintian Reservoir. The breach of the reservoir threatens 5,600 residents in nearby villages, and has damaged over 600 hectares of farmland.

Armed Police are filling in the levee with large stone blocks, and reinforced concrete cages. The operation was directed by a drone, relaying information to and from the rescue headquarters.

Levee breaches were also reported in central China's Hunan Province. Floods overwhelmed the entire town of Liye, cutting off electricity supply and washing away people's belongings. Local authorities have mobilized volunteers to deliver drinking water, food and medicine for affected residents.
