The DPRK's launch of Musudan mid-range ballistic missiles has provoked condemnation from the US, Japan and South Korea.

US State Department says it will raise the issue at the UN to hold the DPRK accountable for its actions.

The Japanese Prime minister Shinzo Abe described the launch as 'unforgivable'. South Korea also denounced the military test as a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

"The missile launches today, as with all the others, are a clear violation of the United Nations resolution, and it is unforgivable and we strongly condemn them," said Shizo Abe, Japanese Prime Minister.

"A launch of a projectile using ballistic missile technology violates UN resolutions. And it is a clear provocation against us."

"We would advise that it is better for the DPRK to put more efforts into peace on the Korean peninsula and their people's livelihoods which the North has been consistently saying," said Jeong Joon-Hee, spokesperson of South Korean Unification Ministry.
