The DPRK has fired a second missile, shortly after a separate failed attempt off its east coast earlier today (Wednesday).

South Korean military said the second missile flew about 400 kilometers, but has yet to determine whether the launch was successful. The official said both missiles appeared to be intermediate-range Musudan.

Pyongyang made four missile attempts this year, which is said to be capable of striking US bases in Guam. However, all attempts have failed. In recent months, the DPRK has claimed a series of technical breakthroughs in developing an intercontinental ballistic missile, which is capable of delivering a nuclear warhead to targets in the US.

UN resolutions ban the DPRK from any use of ballistic missile technology. And just hours before Wednesday's launch, the Pentagon warned Pyongyang against pressing ahead with any missile test.
