Delegates from the US, Japan and South Korea held a meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday to discuss tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
This follows an attempted firing of a missile from the DPRK's east coast on Tuesday which has been seen as a failure.
Delegates from the three countries said Pyongyang's intention to carry on with its nuclear and missile programmes cannot be tolerated. If confirmed, this attempt was the latest in a series of high-profile missile test failures in less than two months.
