Myanmar's government has granted amnesty to 83 prisoners, and President Htin Kyaw vows to release more.
The presidential statement says the pardon was granted with an aim to promote national reconciliation, and peace of mind, on the occasion of the traditional Buddhist New Year.
On April 8th, 199 prisoners, including political activists and students facing trial connected with politics, were released across the country. The release was the first under the new government.
