Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said, that the recent meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and new Myanmar President Htin Kyaw shortly after the formation of the new government showcases the importance of further developing bilateral ties.
Lu said China is willing to further develop the traditional friendship between the two countries. He also said that China will continue to support Myanmar's efforts toward stability, development and ethnic reconciliation.
The two sides exchanged views on furthering cooperation, and also pledged to boost political trust and deepen comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
