Golden State would continue in their quest to break the single season wins mark. The Dubs have suddenly faltered, meaning they had no room for error, needing to win their last four games to break the Bulls record of 72 victories in a campaign.

Golden State had lost two of their last three games at home, the most recent to down-trodden Minnesota, where they let a 17-point lead slip-away. The NBA champs could ill-afford to play poorly, as San Antonio came to Oakland, and the Spurs still had an outside chance of catching the Warriors for top spot in the West.

Greg Popovich's Spurs and Curry's warriors had combined for 134 wins going into this one.

And early on, the hosts would have the upperhand as Draymon Green nails the triple to put his team up a dozen.

Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs would trim that to just 6 before the break, the former Finals MVP cleaning up his own miss. He had 23.

But the Warriors would restore the 12-point cushion before recess as Harrison Barnes is able to dial long distance.

G-State would own the thrid quarter -- thanks to the league MVP, as he slices to the cup for a deuce, and it is a 17-point edge.

The Chef would have 15 in the quarter -- including this one from downtown -- the Dubs are in front by 19.

And when he wasn't scoring he was finding his teammates -- the alley-oop to Andrew Bogut. the champs have a 21-point lead.

San Antonio would cut into it in the fourth, as David West is able to get the foul-line J, and they are now within 13.

But the Spurs did not have answer for G-State's depth. Harrison Barnes nailing another triple. He had 21 as the Warriors win by 11 and become just the second team to win 70 games in a season.

In other action, Jeff Teague's 23 points paced Atlanta over Toronto. Two days after stunning Golden State, Minnesota was a winner again, toppling Sacramento. Phoenix got past Houston, damaging the Rockets chances of the post-season. And Chicago's playoff hopes are on life-support after losing to Miami.

So here is a look at the playoff picture. Cleveland has all but wrapped up first spot over Toronto. Atlanta, Boston, Miami and Charlotte all battling for the three and four seeds. Indy and Detroit all but assured their spots. Chicago and Washington are long-shots to get in.

Out West, the warriors have clinched the top seed, San Antonio will be second. The top six teams are in. Dallas and Utah almost there. Houston needs lots of help to make the playoffs, but with three games remaining, time is running out.
