In the NBA, the Golden State Warriors continue to chase the league's single season record for wins, which is the 72 set by the Chicago Bulls 20 years ago.
The Dubs coach, Steve Kerr, was a member of that team and continues to maneuver his current squad toward a mark that once seemed unbreakable.
But as Steph Curry and the reigning titleholders headed to Utah to face the Jazz, the hosts would throw everything their way, as they've been fighting hard to stay in contention for the playoffs.
The visitors get their precision passing game going immediately, with Andrew Bogut slamming down the alley-oop from Draymond Green for the first bucket of the night.
But they trail by a point with less than a minute left before half-time, until Harrison Barnes nails the wide open trey to give the champs the lead going into the locker room. Barnes would finish with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Utah comes out of the break strong, as Rodney Hood stops and pops to give the hosts a lead of six. Hood shaking free of Klay Thompson to sink two of his 20 points on the evening.
But Curry keeps Golden State close, by hitting from far away, and that three-pointer from the shore of the Great Salt Lake cuts the deficit to one.
The Jazz continue to push in the fourth quarter, as Trey Lyles misses, only for Rudy Gobert to convert the putback, increasing the home team's edge to eight.
But Shaun Livingston finds Draymond Green under the hoop, and he ties the game at 85, before Kerr demands more effort from his team on defense.
There's no D for Gordon Hayward using Hood as a screen there, however, and three of his team-high 21 points have Utah right back in front.
But as the period ticks down, Klay Thompson's trey ties things at 89 with 15 seconds left, and this contest is headed to overtime.
Curry makes his presence felt in the extra session as he drives to the rack for the reverse. The MVP would finish with a game-high 31 points. The Warriors go on to prevail by seven, and they need five wins in their last seven outings, to break the NBA record for victories in a season.

Elsewhere, San Antonio tied a franchise mark with their 63rd win, while also improving to 38-0 at home, the longest streak to start a season in league history. The Clippers rolled past Minny. Dallas edged New York. Julius Randle's late jumper lifted the Lakers past Miami in overtime. Sacramento beat Washington. And Toronto reached 50 victories for the first time in team history, as they stomped past Atlanta.
