A mass trial involving dozens of Iranian opposition activists and protesters resumed on Saturday in Tehran.
The defendants face charges of rioting and plotting to overthrow the ruling Islamic government following violent unrest in the wake of the disputed presidential election in June.
Saturday was the second day of a mass trial that began a week ago.
The defendants at the second session included several prominent reformist politicians, as well as a 23-year-old French academic arrested in July.
Senior European Union diplomats have called on Iran to immediately release the young woman, who was jailed on espionage charges related to the riots. France has called the charges "baseless."
