US shares fears over Iranian nuclear arms

A US State Department spokesman says Iran has failed to explain its nuclear ambitions.

His remarks came in reaction to a report released by the United Nations nuclear watchdog, saying it is worried that Iran may be working on making a nuclear warhead.

The report of the International Atomic Energy Agency, obtained by the Associated Press and Reuters, highlights Iran's latest nuclear activities. It says Iran has secretly produced its first batch of 20 percent Highly Enriched Uranium.

The agency says Iran's resistance to its attempts to probe for signs of a nuclear cover-up "gives rise to concerns about possible military dimensions to Iran's nuclear program."
