Afghanistan to build self-sufficient force

Also in Munich, Afghan President Hamid Karzai said he's looking at re-instituting conscription.

He plans to build and train a security force of sufficient size, able to provide security for the country on its own.

On Sunday, Karzai told the gathering of the world's top defense officials that he plans to build an army and police force of 300-thousand by 2012, that will be able to defend the country independently by 2015. But he also indicated international troops would still be needed.
