UEFA Cup champions Sevilla kept their Primera Liga title hopes alive with a 3-1 win at home to Real Zaragoza on Sunday.

Luis Fabiano put Sevilla ahead but teammate Fredi Kanoute later missed a penalty. Sevilla were made to rue that miss 15 minutes from time when Andres D'Alessandro's corner flew over keeper Andres Palop into the net. But Aleksandr Kerzhakov then fired home to restore Sevilla's lead. Duda put Kerzhakov down the right and he picked out an unmarked Kanoute who volleyed home his 21st league goal of the season. The final score 3-1.
