Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |

As China's annual college entrance examinations approach, various preventative measures are being implemented to ensure they run smoothly.

As millions of Chinese students gear up for the national college entrance exams, special arrangement are in place to prevent the possible spread of the A/H1N1 flu.

Students taking the exams and examiners are required to fill in a Health Status Card one day before the first exam. If symptoms such as coughing and fever appear, the students are told to immediately report their condition.

The criteria for fever is a body temperature of 37.5 Celsius degree.

Xian Lianping, vice director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, said, "Students with temperatures over 37.5 degree Celsius, will be taken to the back-up examination rooms."

If examinees do not fill in the health status inspection form, nor take their temperature at home, staff at exam sites will do it.

In case of any emergencies, Beijing has prepared back-up examination rooms. Three back-up rooms will be available for one site.

So far, there are no suspected or confirmed cases of A/H1N1 infection among Beijing's students who will take the college entrance examination.

In Southeastern China's Fujian Province, local authorities say sterile supplies have been prepared for the students, such as masks, thermometers and some medicines.

In Shanghai, and east China's Zhejiang Province, additional back-up examination rooms are also prepared if flu symptoms are found among students taking the exam.

More than ten million students will take exams shortly.
