Taiwan has reported two more A/H1N1 infections, a day after the island confirmed its first case. Local authorities are taking steps to prevent and control the virus.
The latest A/H1N1 patient is a Taiwan student studying in the US.
She returned from San Francisco on Taiwan's EVA Airways, flight BR-171, Thursday morning.
A temperature check at the airport revealed a fever. Health officials sent her to hospital, where she was later confirmed.
The second patient is also Taiwan student in the US.
A health official showed the public the student's flight routes.
From New York to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific Airways flight CX 831 on Tuesday.
Flight CX 468 from Hong Kong to Taiwan on Wednesday.
The woman caught a cold before her trip.
She wore a mask on the flight.
She's being treated at a hospital near the airport, and is in stable condition.
Health officials are tracing the passengers on the two flights.
Travellers sitting in rows 58 through 64 on CX 831, and those in rows 34 through 40 on CX 468, are required to contact the health departments as soon as possible.
The first patient is recovering.
He'll take antiviral medicines until Saturday.
Health staff have checked nearly 60 passengers on the same flight.
Results have come in for half of them, all negative.
