Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |
Health authorities in Taiwan confirmed two more cases of A/H1N1 flu on Thursday, bringing the number of people on the island infected by the virus to three. Health officials revealed that the latest case was a 23-year-old female who arrived in the island from San Francisco in the morning.
Earlier, the Health authorities reported another case. That case concerns a 22-year-old girl who studies in New York and became sick there. She had developed flu symptoms before returning to Taiwan on Wednesday and wore a face mask during her journey via Hong Kong. The patient was taken to hospital for treatment on Wednesday night and is now in stable condition. Health authorities in Taiwan say they are tracing passengers who took the same flights as the patients.
