Taiwan's health authorities have reported the first confirmed A/H1N1 case on the island. The patient -- a 52-year-old doctor -- is a foreign national who flew into Taiwan on Monday night.

Health authorities said the doctor had stayed in the United States before traveling to Taiwan. He flew from New York to Hong Kong on flight CX-831 on Monday, and arrived in Taiwan aboard flight CX-468, later the same day.

The patient developed a fever during the flight, and was isolated for treatment after getting off the plane. He is now in stable condition. Health officials are trying to locate other passengers and crew who were in close contact with the doctor during the flight.
