Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |
The province of Guangdong is stepping up testing at Guangzhou's Tianhe Port. That's where quarantine staff managed to intercept the mainland's fourth A/H1N1 influenza case, using temperature screening on Friday.
Passengers with health declaration cards pass through manual and automatic temperature testing. Quarantine staff record their temperatures, and then re-test passengers found to have temperatures ranging from 37.2 to 37.5 centigrade.
China's State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine reports that on Monday all agencies across China found 90 cases with fever or acute respiratory symptoms. Of these, 56 are now under observation and 34 have been ruled out as influenza cases.
