Celebrities are a big draw for visitors even at a book fair. The 19th National Book Trading Expo has welcomed a batch of celebrity writers with their new releases on Monday.

Jia Zhangke, film director, said, "I'm considering a change of style in my films. Period dramas will be a preferred genre."

Noted scholar Yan Chongnian has given an intriguing lecture. Autograph signing sessions have been held for writers Wang Meng, Cai Zhizhong and Zheng Jun. Yang Hongying, debuted at a launch with her fairytale series "The Diary of a Laughing Cat."
