One of China's most ethnically diverse regions, Yunnan Province, continues to offer best wishes for the Beijing Olympics. From Tuesday to Thursday, a group of children from Yunnan's ethnic minorities is performing a song and dance drama on the capital stage. Together with children from Beijing, about 200 young performers are taking part in the presentation.

The audience showed its appreciation for the performance with repeated gales of laughter. It was hilarious. But there was also a somewhat more serious purpose. The drama entitled, "Olympic Fuwa Bring Luck" gave the audiences a different appreciation of the five Olympics mascots.

The drama's cast have no professional training in dancing and singing. Cast members were selected by director Xie Xingke from families of Yunnan ethnic gruops. He used three criteria for selecting his actors.
