July 8th marked another mile stone, as the count down to the Beijing Olympics reached 30 days. In honour of the occasion, the Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee released 30 new Olympic songs. The songs were selected from among many submissions. The latest releases were immediately favoured by the general public. The BOCOG plans to work to popularize the songs, to help build the spirit of the Games.

The Olympic tunes are written on many themes pertaining to the games. "I am a star" honours Games volunteers. "Light the Passion, Pass the Dream" is about the Olympic Torch Relay. "Beijing Welcomes You" provided the theme for celebrations marking 100 days before the commencement of the games.

Pop singers Sun Nan and Tan Jing as well as pianist Kong Xiangdong were present at the release ceremony.
