The 7th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students is underway. It's being held in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province. 110 students from 55 countries are in ompetition for the top award.

The 7th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for  Foreign College Students is underway.

The theme for the competition is "Fervor for the Olympics Fun with Chinese." The students have traveled to the historic city of Xi'an, beautiful Hangzhou and scenic Zhangjiajie to experience genuine Chinese culture. The contest committee arranged for a tour. Some of the topics for the final round are to about the students' experiences of China.

Today, over 40 million people around the world, are learning Chinese by various means. As the name "Chinese Bridge" implies, the present competition aims to offer a bridge to people who are studying Chinese. The month long competition is in it seventh year.
