In south China's Guangdong province, the Zhujiang Film Studio held a celebration over the weekend, marking the 50th anniversary of its founding. One of the largest film production studios in south China, it is launching a restructuring of its businesses.

Established in 1958, the Zhujiang Film Studio became a major base of China's filmmaking industry. Over the past 50 years, it has produced more than 260 big-screen films, as well as over 1,000 TV dramas.It has won nearly one hundred honors, at home and abroad. Recent years have seen the studio adopting modern management methods, which have helped boost its profitability.
As part of its restructuring, the studio set up the Zhujiang Film Corporation, a joint venture with the Guangdong Provincial Film Company.
