Also due to hot demand, the prices for trips to Taiwan are up 15 percent. Booking in some cities has already been closed ahead of schedule. But costs for tours to foreign destinations are lower.

Chongqing Tour Operator said "Tours to Taiwan in 2009 are very popular in Zhejiang, Shandong, Yunnan provinces and Tainjin and Chongqing municipalities. We have 3 tour groups to Taiwan on January 11th, totaling 100 people. I know Yunnan has a 160 passenger charter flight to Taiwan on January 24th, and its bookings were already ended before the New Year."

Hao Xianzhong, Outbound Trip of CITS (Kunming Branch, Yunnan Province) said "Prices of outbound trips are down nearly 2,000 to 3,000 yuan per person. It's a really good time to travel overseas now, especially for the trips to Australia, Europe and New Zealand. Because the Renminbi is higher, and fuel costs are also dropping."

Tour operators say, there are still seats available for fights to Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macao. But tour packages for Australia and Europe were completely booked. Inbound tours to popular destinations like Shandong, and GuangXi were also sold out.

Mr. Fu, Guangxi Resident said "I have been in NanNing for 20 years. But there are still lots of places that I've never been to in Guangxi. So it's a good time for me to travel to those places during the Chinese New Year."

Skier, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regin said "I'd like to go to the ski resort, to relax myself and feel the excitement."

Ski resorts in Heilongjiang, Liaoning, and Xinjiang are also expected to enjoy good business during the Chinese New Year Holiday, as bookings to those places have also increased.
