Encircled by over one thousand kilometers of palm-lined sandy beaches, Sri Lanka is never out of season for a seaside holiday.
Here, along the road to Galle, 11 kilometers south of Colombo, lies the resort of Mount Lavinia. People from all over the world are relaxing on its clean sandy beach and dipping into its warm waters.
Katherine Noel, Canadian tourist, said, "The weather is beautiful here, there are a lot of things to see, people are very very friendly."
Jon Ivar Mellebye, a tourist from Norway, said, "I usually come to Sri Lanka 2 times a year, I've also been other places, but I like the hospitality of Sri Lankan people."
Australian tourists Nadeshka and Shashenka Withanage said, "People here are good, very kind, friendly, they help a lot."
The name Lavinia actually commemorates a secret love affair -- between a British governor and a young local woman. The pair used to meet at the holiday house of the governor, which stood on the spot where the Mount Lavinia Hotel is now located.
